Alpenrose

I’ve stayed here several times and have enjoyed each visit. The hotel and restaurant staff are wonderfully friendly, and the place is clean with a lovely atmosphere. It sits downhill from Heididorf, which makes for a charming setting. My one gripe is that there’s no refrigerator in the room. I’d still recommend it for a pleasant stay.

The hotel owner gave me a free ticket to get around the area, including cable cars, trains and trams, with museum discounts too. On checkout day I had to leave before the breakfast buffet opened, so the owner kindly packed breakfast and coffee for me to take away. I was so happy with my stay here: fresh air, beautiful scenery, friendly staff and lovely people nearby. One of my favorite stops in Europe.

On a holiday, this was one of the few places still open and serving food. The meal was quite good, though boiled vegetables felt a little out of place. They also had a nice selection of local wines.

I spent a night here while visiting Heidi's village in the Maienfeld region. I wanted to enjoy the Alpine scenery and peaceful surroundings, and this hotel turned out to be a great choice. I really liked the services and the location, especially being so close to the train station and Heidi's house. I highly recommend it.
