Dora, the owner, made us feel at home and was kind and helpful throughout. We loved the lovely walk with the Jungfrau mountains in the background, and the Matten b.i. Sonne bus stop is only about five minutes away, with buses to Interlaken Ost, Interlaken West, and Wilderswil. Our third-floor room had a beautiful view, and breakfast was cozy and filling. Housekeeping comes each day between 9 and 10am. The price felt a little high, though the enchanting neighborhood made it understandable.

I felt very welcome here, and breakfast was plentiful, tasty, and had a good selection. My single room was small, with the toilet outside, but it had what I needed and was clean and fresh-smelling. The hotel is outside Interlaken's tourist crowds, and I paid around 40-50% less than in the town center. I stayed in early August 2025 before heading to Schynige Platte the next morning. I hadn't expected such good quality for the price, and would recommend it to anyone wanting to avoid the crowds.

The woman at reception was so accommodating when I needed a same-day booking after another hotel double-booked me. She was helpful and knew the local area really well. The hotel is comfortable, has great views, and covers the basics for a pleasant stay in Switzerland. I'd recommend it.

Breakfast was optional, and we skipped it because we had to leave early. The entrance hall and corridors have lovely vintage decor, while our room had modern furniture and a small bathroom. The receptionist created a friendly, welcoming feel and provided everything we needed. She even lent us a power adapter, which we simply returned at reception when we checked out.

We really liked our host and had a very nice stay. The hotel could use a makeover, and air conditioning would help with summers that keep getting hotter. Still, we loved the location and would happily stay there again.
