The hotel’s location is convenient, right in the village near the train station, ski rental, and the cable car to the slopes. From Zurich, arriving by train is easy. It looks nice outside, but the rooms are extremely old and basic, and badly need renovation. There wasn’t even a free bottle of water in the room. Breakfast was decent but middling, and the same every day. We’d hoped for some variety. We had half board, but dinner was very poor and tasteless. It was a fixed starter, main, and dessert, with no alternative. If you’re allergic to something, there’s nothing else and you’ll be left with an empty stomach. Also, nobody is there between 11 and 16.

There’s space for ski gear and a good spot to park the car right in the middle of town. The gondola to the ski areas is almost next door. The hotel has an old-fashioned style, and the service in both the hotel and restaurant was good and pleasant. I liked it.

We wished we could have stayed longer. The small town is so pretty, with a supermarket nearby, and the hotel itself is beautiful. Our room was very large and comfortable, breakfast was excellent, and the free parking on site was handy. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, from reception through to the restaurant. It was also very good value.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable, though the bathroom was older and kept the historic feel. This is a beautiful historic hotel, and breakfast had plenty of variety, including local products.

Right in the center of the village, this historic landmark has a lovely atmosphere and Belle epoque decor. We found out it’s the hotel where Sherlock Holmes stayed in the story "The last Problem". The breakfast was amazing, the rooms were good, and the staff were very friendly.
