Berghotel Bonistock

We had a memorable two days on Bonistock at the end of January for a short ski camp with seven Korean students and their teacher. Our group stayed in upstairs four-bed and six-bed rooms, which were comfortable, with a lounge and TV opposite. On the second day, the teacher hurt her knee in a ski accident. The team helped arrange special transport down to the station without skiing. Julian from the hotel team was even ready to drive a car back to Zurich, though luckily she managed to drive herself with the injured knee. Stefan and his team were extremely nice and helpful throughout. For the first evening they arranged a Swiss night with a barn fire outside, Pascal playing Alphorn, and a lovely cheese fondue and Raclette. The next evening, they cooked Korean dishes with the group to share. Everyone left with Bonistock souvenirs, and the stay was unforgettable.

The view across the mountains and valley is spectacular, and the place has a cozy Swiss feel. It's busy, though manageable, and the food was okay. You can stop in for lunch, dinner, or a drink, and it's a nice place to rest after skiing, snowboarding, hiking, or other activities. A cable lift takes you up from the valley.

Their flammkuchen and stinky nuggets are proudly the worst in the canton.

After our hike we stopped just for a drink. There are lots of outdoor seats, lovely views, and plenty of drink options at the self-service buffet.
