B&B La Crisalide

We'd gone to the nearby museum and were looking for somewhere to eat outside regular lunchtime. This lovely place welcomed us so warmly, in a calm, homely setting, that it felt like visiting old friends, and our toddler was made just as welcome. The couple who run it are sweet and a little older, and they can serve guests in several languages. The food and drinks are simple and homemade, but extremely tasty. It gave us a chance to switch off from the busy world for a while, which is rare these days. Can heartily recommend it!

We were told to leave promptly at 9 p.m., and the repeated insistence on arranging counseling sessions with us was extremely unpleasant. The owner was always in the room, working on his computer beside us, so there was no privacy; dinner was served in the same space as breakfast. The homemade meal itself was ordinary, despite the hostess seeming to think her cooking was exceptional. The host was friendly, but the hostess came across as rather hostile, and we didn't feel welcome.

Erika's three-course menu is well worth recommending, and breakfast each day included regional specialties along with useful tips for excursions and hikes. Erika and Wolfgang are welcoming hosts who leave nothing to be desired. It's a pretty, charming place for a relaxing vacation, with different dining options and a small pool on the campsite.

The dining room is spacious and clean, with a mix of old and modern decor. Wolfgang Küng looked after us very attentively, unlike his wife. Erika Küng made it clear several times through her gestures that we weren't welcome, and we didn't feel like guests. The Mediterranean cooking didn't match the Coop Prix Garantie brand. The price was too high. I expect to be treated like a guest and for the food to live up to what was promised.
