Hotel Schiffahrt

Dinner at the hotel was great, especially the famous Cordon Bleu. The rooms were renovated and in good shape, and the younger staff and cleaning staff were super nice. There’s also a small stone beach nearby where you can get into the lake for a swim. We enjoyed renting a Kajak or SUP from Swiss SUP, which had friendly staff and great service. The only bad experience was with the older waitress. She treated us badly, perhaps because my wife is Asian. We got the worst table, she forgot her orders, and she was rude. Thankfully, one of the younger workers showed great customer care, so we still had a nice stay. Because of that one person, though, I can’t give it five stars.

The food was really tasty, and I’d recommend the Cordon Bleue. Breakfast had a sufficient choice, parking was plentiful, and there’s a small beach just a two-minute walk away. Our room at the front had a great lake view and a balcony, though the road and railway line were right outside. Trains passed at fairly short intervals all through the night. The rooms and furnishings are very dated, but everything was tidy and clean. The bathroom had been renovated at some point, and the mattress was good. The many flies were annoying at both breakfast and dinner. It’s a cozy hotel right on the lake.

The food, rooms, and laundry service were all excellent. We stayed there with my husband almost 2 months ago, and I wanted to send a heartfelt thanks to the staff, especially Johana and Miguel. They’re such kind, caring people, and we felt very lucky to be treated with so much warmth and attention. Greetings from Chile.

The portions were small, the Bolognese sauce was very average, and the pasta seemed to have been warmed up from early morning. The salad came with mayonnaise instead of olive oil. If there aren’t many other options around, you might eat here just to see how food shouldn’t be. You can’t just ask for money, you have to offer something too.
