Youth Hostel Montreux

The rooms are modern and clean, and the hostel is right by the lake. Breakfast also felt thoughtfully put together. The staff were friendly, helpful, and so positive. It seemed like they really made an extra effort to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable.

The rooms are spectacular and the bathrooms were clean. Getting to the hostel with my suitcase was a struggle, though, and then I had to carry it up two flights of stairs.

I was glad they let me leave my luggage and bike after check-out. The rooms were clean and pleasant, with solid oak bunk beds, and both dinner and breakfast were good, especially breakfast. It’s a tastefully restored old building just steps from the beautiful lake. My one important gripe: there’s no rope for hanging clothes.

You’re right beside the lake, which makes the location perfect, and the reception staff are very friendly. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. It costs more than similar hostels elsewhere, though I think the location is worth it. Trains going by and school groups made it noisy, so I’d bring earplugs next time.
