Motel Rheinfels Park

There was a great choice of breakfast options, and the place was easy to find and check into. The room was fairly large and clean, and the beds were good to sleep in. The pillows were extremely soft, though, and uncomfortable for my head. We'd recommend staying here if you're visiting the Stein area.

I booked 11 days but ended up needing to stay only 5. Since there was no one on site, I had to call to ask how to get a refund for the days I wasn't there. They told me it wasn't possible, so I lost more than 500€. There's no human presence at this hotel, everything is automated. If you need help, you have to call a Swiss phone number, which costs anyone calling from outside Switzerland. Breakfast is limited, nothing special, and, like before, there's nobody around, so you have to handle everything yourself. The temperature was really high, between 22 to 25 °C, and I couldn't adjust it in my room. Lowering it didn't do anything, so I had to open the window. In November, that means heating the outdoors. Not eco-friendly. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. You could say it's Switzerland, but that doesn't justify paying so much. At this price, there should at least be someone on site to talk to.

It's comfortable and has all the usual amenities, but feels a bit characterless and beige. There's no staff at all. I might stay again, though it feels expensive for having no service whatsoever.

The bar and restaurant have a nice outdoor terrace. It's a modern, pleasant hotel, and the staff are friendly and very helpful.
