Hotel Blattnerhof

Dinner was delicious, and the breakfast buffet had plenty to choose from. We stayed in a renovated room that was spacious, clean, modern, and comfortable, with a nice big bathroom and a good bed. The hotel is beautiful and just a few steps from the gondola. The wellness area was disappointing, though. There were lots of loud children shouting and running around, going into the sauna dressed and wearing plastic slippers that smelled in the heat. The sauna should be a quiet, relaxing place.

For a quick stop with a late arrival and early departure, the staff were very accommodating and reception was friendly. My single room cost 88chf, and it was good for the price, with a clean bathroom. Breakfast cost extra. I was able to keep my bike in the Tiefgarage, which I believe is open to other guests too. I'd stay again.

The pizzas are fantastic. Yesterday, when the restaurant was packed, we called in an order for six, picked them up in less than 15 minutes, and they were delicious. Staff are really friendly, and when you're seated outside the view takes in both the old Town and the Alps. The terrace has around ten to twelve tables, including two big benches, though it can get busy and sunny days may find them short a sun umbrella or two. There's also a small playground for kids, fenced off and far enough from the street. We stayed at the hotel a few years ago and I can recommend it too, though I'd still choose a small chalet first.

We went to the Hotel restaurant and found a table on the nice terrace without a reservation. The pizza was tasty. Service was okay, but we didn't feel especially welcomed.
