The apartment worked really well as a roomy base for our family ski trip. The gondola is only a few minutes away on foot, and the ski area is beautiful and easy to reach. Blatten itself is lovely but small, with just three restaurants, so book ahead. If everything is full, Naters or Brig are options. We really liked the burritos at RUNDER Store in Brig. Our two-bedroom apartment was spacious and thoughtfully laid out, with a kitchen equipped for cooking our own meals. The rooms were quiet and could be darkened completely. Heating is controlled centrally, though, and we found 21-25°C too warm. We couldn't turn it down, and the staff confirmed that this was a system limitation. Even after a huge three-hour delay at the Furka tunnel, getting in was easy. We called ahead, and the keys and documents were left in the postbox on site. The staff were warm and friendly. They didn't always know the answer to local questions, such as where to find the nearest "Robidog" or where to park long term on our last day, but they were keen to help. A very good place for a ski holiday, and popular enough that booking early makes sense.

Blatten is an authentic, lovely village in a beautiful area. REKA lived up to its reputation as a warm, clean and friendly place for a family holiday, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

Getting up the mountain was easy, just about a three-minute walk to the cable car. The winter service was good too, so we didn't have to put on snow chains. Just be careful around the houses at night, since melting snow can leave black ice. The flat had a balcony and felt modern and spacious, with everything we needed. It was especially set up well for kids: cups, mugs, plates, cutlery and high chairs, plus a baby cot and a bed rail for older little ones. The staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was free and covered, and the clean swimming pool worked for both very young and older children. The gym looked nice, though I never used it.

We hadn't stayed at Reka before, so a heads-up for other first-timers: bring your own towels if you can. Rentals are available, but bringing them from home is better. It's a gorgeous place with lots to do, and childcare is included if you'd like a few hours without the kids. Super family-friendly. We had a great stay and will come back.
