Best Western Plus Hotel Beaulac

The service was extremely rude and unprofessional. I was waiting first at reception, but the woman there ignored me and served male guests who arrived later. I had to shout, “I am here first,” before she would help me. It felt like blatant discrimination. I also had to call and ask for the Neuchâtel Tourist Card after check-in, even though I’d already paid for it through the city tax. Housekeeping then banged aggressively on my door at 9 AM, despite the 11 AM checkout time. It’s overpriced, and if you want basic respect and a quiet morning, I’d avoid this hotel.

The rooftop bar was my favorite part, with fantastic views of the Alps and mountains and an excellent sushi bar. The hotel also has a nice restaurant, and my room was clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. Its location made it easy to get around, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed staying here.

Breakfast was good, and the room had a nice Nespresso machine. There’s no bathroom, though, and the parking facilities are poor. Service at the rooftop restaurant was slow. The windows open, which was nice for cooling the room when needed.

The lake view was breathtaking, and the people made the stay even more memorable. I’m still grateful for the kindness I received, even more than a month later. Everyone left a good impression, from the lakeside restaurant and breakfast staff to the Waves Lounge Bar team. Special thanks to Vincent aswell! I’ll especially remember Boris. After arriving around midday from a long work trip involving a 4 a.m. wake-up, flights, and a train, I dropped my bags and went straight to our company’s head office. I finally had time to explore and eat dinner around 5 p.m. Boris welcomed me warmly at reception and in the dinner area. He was such a sweetheart, helpful, friendly, and professional. Soon after dinner I felt really unwell, probably from the exhaustion and anxiety of the day. I was sick, had a heavy headache, and felt overwhelmed. Boris answered my call to reception right away, brought medication, checked on me, and told the night shift team to keep an eye on me. Being far from home and not knowing anyone, that care made me feel safe. Thanks as well to the cleaning staff who looked after Room 330. I’m a tidy guest and usually take out my bins and make the bed, but one day before I left, I came back to find chocolates placed lovingly on the bed. That small gesture made me feel seen and appreciated.
