Hotel Touring au Lac

We had what we needed for two nights, and the staff were friendly. The hotel is right by the lake and an easy walk from the old town. The price was good for the location, though the double room had two single mattresses on wheels that kept moving, so it wasn't great for a couple. Our room faced the back. The street noise wasn't too bad, and in the off season we could sleep with the window open. Parking takes patience. It's easier to find a public spot after 19:30, and you can leave the car there as long as you like with the hotel card.

The location is the best part, right across from the lake and near the city centre. The staff were very friendly, and the place was clean, though old-fashioned. The room didn't have much in it, and the bed sagged a bit. Breakfast was basic and too expensive, so the overall value felt low. It's a typical hotel that does the job.

The view of the Alps from right beside the water is stunning, and this older hotel ended up being the nicest place we stayed on our trip. There was plenty of space in the room, outlets everywhere, and a large bathroom with a fairly deep bathtub and a radiator heated towel rack. We also appreciated having a kettle, plus tilt and turn windows that open all the way. Getting an actual room key felt like a fun throwback. A friend of ours lives just outside the city, and we liked the hotel so much we told him to send everyone here. For access, there are two small steps, about 2 inches, at the front entrance, then it's level, and there's an elevator. Several public transit lines meet right nearby.

Good location, and the hotel was okay. There’s no AC, so we had to leave the windows open to cool the room. Soccer fans kept us awake most of the night, honking on the main street to celebrate some win.
