We decided on lunch spontaneously, and the staff welcomed us so warmly and were accommodating with my elderly mum and 8-year-old child. Head waiter Aziz found us a table graciously and helped us get my mum, who uses a wheelchair, settled in. The appetizers came quickly. We’d asked for all the food at once, but the main dishes took about 15 more minutes. The kiddie Spaghetti Bolognese arrived quickly and was a hit, though the serving may be a little small for a child with a big appetite. The house rosé was divine and all the dishes were really delicious. With the view, food quality, and flexible service, this glorious place above Lake Neuchâtel made for an excellent experience. It’s a must visit.

On a sunny day, this is simply the best spot in Neuchâtel. The restaurant terrace has breathtaking views across all three lakes, the Alps, and beyond, and it’s easy to reach by funicular.

The view is the real magic here, especially around sundown and twilight. It’s a tiny restaurant in a tiny hotel, with great prices and good, well-prepared fondue.

I’d enjoyed this restaurant before, and this time I went with friends and our four kids. The staff were very friendly and made a plate of pesto pasta for our daughter, even though it wasn’t on the menu. The dining room felt cozy and was arranged to follow the covid rules, so we were comfortable and seated away from other tables.

The view is fantastic while you're eating, and the fondue was really good too. We went for the funi-fondue, booked at the bus terminus: you take the funicular up, have fondue, then ride back down. A great evening out. Just remember to reserve both your table and the funicular for the return.
