Our room looked out over the lake, and the shared bathroom was spotless. The staff were really friendly. The building was once a monastery, and you can still spot some of its old features. I skipped both the food and the spa. Breakfast was the one thing I found overpriced.

The lake view was lovely, and the location worked well, but the room felt dated and the fan toilet was noisy. The bed wasn't very comfortable either. We paid around 160 francs for one night, with no breakfast or even coffee included. The pool and sauna cost another 30 francs for the two of us, though the pool itself was nice and fairly quiet, perhaps because it was low season. We had understood from the receptionist at check-in that pool access was included for our stay, since we were there for just one night. At checkout, another receptionist tried to charge us for pool use by the day. The extra fee was 15 francs per person. Okay, but not the best.

The rooms were good, but I wouldn't choose the restaurant for dinner. The food quality, menu selection, and atmosphere reminded me of a school cafeteria. Our waitress couldn't tell us what went into the soup of the day, and dinner service only ran from 6 to 8 pm, which is ridiculous.

That lake view was breathtaking. The service was excellent, and it felt like a perfect spot for a couples' weekend away. One of the best hotels we've stayed in recently.
