It has the feel of a family-run restaurant and hotel. The service was warm from the first welcome at the front through to our table, and when one waitress finished her shift, she stopped by to wish us a good weekend and hand us over to the next one. We had Fondue aux herbes for three, a tartare with delicious homemade fries, and I finished with a coupe vieux champex. I'd recommend it after a good hike or ski session 😃🙌

The rooms were clean and had enough space for all of us to rest. Having a stove for light cooking was a nice bonus. It did get rather chilly at times because the heaters weren't available during our early September visit. Also, there's a fee if you leave dishes unwashed at checkout, so remember to clean up.

On the TMB, I stopped here yesterday for a very expensive meal that felt well deserved, but it didn't taste very good. I later got food poisoning, which made for a horrible time a few miles out of town while tenting. I'm not sure which food caused it, since I had the burger, ham, vegetables and noodles. Even without getting ill, it wasn't worth the price.

I was crewing some CCC runners and stopped at the restaurant for dinner. The steak was delicious, served on its own hot stone so I could finish cooking it as I liked. The welcome and service were very friendly.

For classic Swiss food in a beautiful atmosphere, this is the place. Delphine and the team are superb. It's right in the centre of Champex and gets lovely sunshine.
