Hotel Admiral

We had a great weekend base in Lugano, with free public transport tickets and an excellent rooftop pool. Booking was easy and the rates were good. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were really accommodating with my vegan, gluten-free friend. The location worked perfectly for a quick break in Ticino.

The front desk team were cheerful and so helpful. The location turned out to be just right, and everything else felt lovely too, from the room to breakfast and the swimming pools. Yes, there was more than one. I'd give them 10 stars if I could.

We stayed in room No. 610 and most things were fine. Two things could be improved: the tap in our room didn't work properly and needs maintenance. Also, the restaurant has only one coffee machine, so getting coffee can take 15-20 minutes. Another machine would make a big difference to the customer experience.

Getting around was easy, since the hotel is fairly close to transport and local places. The staff were the best part of my stay: attentive, genuinely kind, and helpful from check-in to check-out. The hotel was clean and well maintained too, which gave me a positive experience and earns it a strong four out of five from me. There wasn't a particular feature that stood out, though. It's a well-run place with great people, but no memorable design, special amenity or wow factor to make it a perfect stay.
