Garni Chesa Mulin

Breakfast had plenty to choose from, including gluten-free, lactose-free, and vegan options, plus fruit, breads, cereal, yogurt, cold cuts, cheese, juice, milk, coffee, and tea. There weren’t ready-made eggs or potatoes, but you could boil eggs to the doneness you wanted. Our room was comfortable, had everything we needed, and came with a lovely view. Staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful. Getting here from the station means an uphill walk past a beautiful gorge, or you can take the bus and then walk a shorter distance. We were here for the hotel’s 40th anniversary and got a card for a free drink, so we tried the local beer. A gem of a hotel.

We slept comfortably in a clean room, and the staff we met were courteous and helpful. Breakfast was especially good, with fresh bread, cold cuts, jams, cereal, chia pudding, lactose-free milk, and more. There’s no AC, but opening the window at night let in enough cool mountain air to bring the room temperature down.

Garni Chesa was a pleasant place to stay, with a clean, comfortable room. Breakfast was simple and had what you need in the morning. St Moritz is about an eight-minute drive away.

The guest card is a real perk if you stay a few nights. It covers buses, trains, and mountain lifts across most of the valley, and on some days we saved more with it than the accommodation cost. The rooms are spacious, with very comfortable beds, plenty of storage, and a safe. Bathrooms are spotless, with great showers and lots of towels. From a valley-facing room, the mountain views are lovely, especially when the early sun reaches them. Breakfast is a quality buffet, with mostly homemade jams, excellent bread, and particularly good croissants. Staff are cheerful and helpful. There’s a Bäckerei nearby for picnic food and a well-stocked supermarket on the corner. A really nice hotel.
