We didn’t stay overnight, but the restaurant, views, and setting are beautiful, looking out over the Monterach Glacier. It’s right by the Bernina train station, which makes it fun and convenient to hop on a train to Tirano or St. Moritz.

We were here last December, and the glacier views were wonderful. It’s conveniently close to the train station. The restaurant portions were small, though, and I hope they can improve that.

It felt like a dream postcard spot, and the food at the restaurant was wonderful. We did have trouble with the train because the hotel details say Pontresina, two stops farther, but the stop to get off at is actually Morteratsch. As non-locals, we weren’t told clearly which station to use, and taking the train back the other way was difficult because our ticket didn’t allow travel in both directions.

Beautiful views surround this relaxing hotel. You can drive here easily or arrive by train, which stops right outside. It’s a slow train, so there’s no noise. There’s also a hike to the glacier from here that takes about an hour.
