Ristorante Pensione Chalet Stazione

We were a group of six passing through by train and stayed for one night. The location is right across from the station, and it worked really well as a travel stop. The decor is sparse, but the rooms were clean and bright, the beds were comfortable, and the showers were great. They also provided a plug-in port for different international electronics. Pizza is available until 8pm, and breakfast was nice: croissants, bread, yogurt, cheese, sliced meat, juice, and coffee or tea for 12 CHF each. The hosts spoke very little English but were very hospitable.

We drove over from Italy for lunch and had a lovely time. The place sits at the foot of the Alps, the food and service were great, and sitting in the outdoor courtyard was wonderful.

Stefano was really helpful and gave us plenty of tips. This modest little place is right beside the railway station in Poschiavo, and it was simply superb. We’ll be back!

The family who run the place are very welcoming, and breakfast comes with nice bread and yogurt. It’s right across from the train station and makes a comfortable, affordable stop on the Bernina Express line, especially given how expensive Swiss hotels can be. The room is a little small, and both the room and bathroom facilities are more basic than at standard hotels. Still, we stayed in the middle of winter and weren’t inconvenienced at all.
