Le Baron Tavernier Hôtel Restaurants Spa

The room service arrived quickly, and the food was very well cooked and high quality. The hotel restaurant is listed in the Michelin Guide for its French cuisine, and the panoramic lake and mountain views are stunning. I enjoyed a walk around the vineyards by Lake Geneva, and there are great treks in every direction. I didn’t get to spend much time in the lovely spa because I was busy exploring outside, but I’ll be back soon. My room had a beautiful view across the lake to the snow capped mountains, plus a nice bathroom and a good sized balcony where I could have coffee in the morning. The room itself was spacious, though the walls were thin. A loud, inconsiderate neighbor’s phone call at 5:45am woke me up. I highly recommend the place, but I’ll ask about the noise before choosing a room next time.

The view is lovely, but there may be cheaper places to enjoy it. Our lakeside room was right above the road, and even off season there was already a lot of traffic. I don’t understand how this hotel gets four stars. The bathrooms were disgusting, with mold and orange bacterial stains on the shower, taps, and floor. Both taps in our room were broken: the shower wouldn’t switch to rain mode, and the sink tap took odd maneuvering to shut off. The shower floor was very slippery despite its texture, probably because it was dirty with soap or something. Some bedside lamp outlets only worked if you held the wire in a certain position. Room cleaning was the worst part. I’ve never before found a bathroom bin left full of other guests’ used period products. One of the complimentary bottles was already open and half empty, and the minibar looked nasty too.

We had lunch at the restaurant. The location and terrace views are stunning, but the food was average at best and too expensive for its quality. The ravioli and filets de perche both lacked depth of flavor. I’d stop for a drink or a quick bite on the terrace, or try the terrace menu, instead of having a full meal inside.

Everything was so perfect 🥺 One recommendation: they needed a bathroom kit, like toothbrushes.
