I’m sitting here with a glass of wine and really enjoying the place. The lobby feels cozy, and there’s a little library that adds to the relaxed atmosphere. In summer, the terrace is especially lovely, with a great view across the Lauterbrunnen valley. I also like how involved the owners are in local sports and the community. Their passion for the region comes through. I only wish there were an à la carte restaurant, because I’d come by much more often if there was one. ✌️

We had a great ski trip here. The owners were welcoming and easy to contact, and getting our luggage collected from the train station was simple. The room was comfortable, with really good beds, and breakfast featured excellent local produce. The hotel is in a beautiful spot, an easy walk from the ski lift, and there’s free ski storage right by the lift.

The balcony view was jaw-dropping, and our deluxe room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and their pickup from the train station made the uphill walk with our bags much easier, even though the station isn’t far away. We also loved the high-quality breakfast, especially the eggs made to order. Wengen and this part of Switzerland were stunning. We’ve traveled all over the world and seen some of the most beautiful scenery of our lives here. We LOVED Wengen and the Alpenrue, and would highly recommend staying here.

The staff were kind and helpful throughout my five-night stay, and I felt welcome the whole time. Raili deserves a special mention for all the great recommendations. I also appreciated how responsive the hotel was before I arrived. Knowing everything was arranged put me at ease. My corner room had an L-shaped balcony and a magnificent panoramic view. It was beautiful in clear weather and overcast skies alike. The room had everything I needed, and though some might find it small, it suited my petite frame perfectly. Breakfast was included and lovely. I especially enjoyed the eggs cooked just how I asked, along with the delicious specialty coffee. On arrival, I was offered a complimentary glass of champagne. There’s also a small spot with chilled drinks and snacks on an honesty system: write down what you take and pay at checkout. Alpenruhe is up a bit of a hill. Since Wengen is car-free, that might sound inconvenient, but they’ll send their own vehicle to collect you from the station if you ask. I was grateful for that on arrival and departure with my heavy luggage. The walk at other times was easy and pleasant, with quaint surroundings. I LOVED this hotel and highly recommend it.
