There are just six rooms, so breakfast feels personal, with homemade jams, local breads and cheeses, eggs made to order, good coffee, and fresh OJ. The restaurant is excellent and is amassing Michelin points. Trails start right behind the hotel, and it’s a great base for exploring Lago Maggiore, though I’d recommend having a car. It’s quiet and a little out of the way, about 10 minutes from Ascona, with an amazing 180-degree lake view. The boutique hotel is run by lovely, caring staff. I almost don’t want to share this find, but we’ll definitely be back.

We left completely charmed and already wanting to return. Hotel Elisabetta has such an intimate, welcoming feel, and Stephanie and her husband made us feel at home with their attentive hospitality. The hotel is full of charm, with lovely decor and thoughtful details. It sits on a peaceful hillside close to both the town center and the lake, and everything seems designed with guests’ comfort in mind. We absolutely loved our stay.

The suite gave us a large room, a very nice bathroom, and completely unobstructed views over all of Lake Maggiore. We spent four days at Hotel Elisabetta and really enjoyed how peaceful it was. The staff and owners were friendly and accommodating. It’s a truly beautiful hotel, and we’ll be back.

The staff were incredibly friendly, and Stéphanie deserves special thanks for her warm welcome and attentive service. We had a relaxing three days at Hotel Elisabetta, with two excellent dinners and a delicious breakfast. Bravo, Luca! The food was worth more than 14 GaultMillau points, and the service, including the wine recommendation, was excellent. Our modern suite was a little spartan, though that’s really nitpicking. The view is fantastic, Ascona and Brissago are close, there’s plenty of parking in front, and the bus stop is right outside. We’d love to come back.

The peaceful atmosphere and pleasant pool area made our stay especially enjoyable. The owners were lovely, professional, and very helpful, including with suggestions for restaurants and things to do nearby. The view is unique, and the hotel has everything you need for a wonderful stay in Ticino. Let them know ahead of time if you prefer a soft or firm mattress so they can provide one that suits you. The restaurant is excellent, serving typical cuisine made with regional products, and the wines are very good.
