HORRIBLE! The beds were unhygienic and breakfast was below mediocre. The five-star reviews seem overrated, and I'm not sure they're authentic. We only stayed one night because there was nowhere else near the Thermals. The place is run down and smelled bad as soon as we entered. There were holes all over the very old bedding, and the bed cover had loads of stains, so we kept it away. The mattress had no protection, just one layer, and it made me feel disgusted to sleep on it. I asked for extra bedding and duvets and managed to make more of a barrier. What they call breakfast isn't really breakfast: cereal and poor-quality charcuterie. Better to eat somewhere else. The walls are like paper, so you hear everything. Service was just okay, but after staff walked away, they started shouting. You could hear them in the kitchen, loud and angry. It was really unpleasant hearing them argue. They did try to help, but there wasn't much they could do because the place is so run down and basic. The only good thing was the coffee from the machine. That's the one star I'm giving it. I've never stayed somewhere like this. It's more like a two-star hostel and doesn't deserve four stars. Stay away if you can.

Our room, number 14, was opposite an unmarked banquet and party room. We didn't know about it until a loud, large party started. We're hiking the France-agenia trail and have been going to bed early, but that wasn't possible that night. If we'd known, we wouldn't have stayed here, even for free.

We had dinner at the hotel's cafe. I paid 23 CHF for boiled pasta with tomatoes, and it didn't taste good. I wouldn't recommend it.

I had the vegetable lasagna, and it was burnt, as you can see in the picture. Our group had about 12 people, and around eight ordered Rösti with up to three ingredients, such as ham, leek, and eggs. Some arrived with the wrong ingredients. One mix-up was our fault because two ingredients sound quite similar when your French pronunciation isn't great, so that wouldn't have been a problem. But the waitress got angry with us. They also completely missed one Rösti and only brought it when we were nearly finished eating.
