Hotel Demi-Lune

We had a sunny balcony by a quiet river, with great food and service at La Demi Lune. saint-Ursanne has a peaceful old-town feel, especially in mid-October. Oh La la!

The Tonka creme brulee is my dessert pick here. The food is beautiful, the service is spot on, and the location earns bonus points too. I've already been twice this month and will be back.

The river terrace at Hôtel de la Demi-Lune is right by the Doubs, in the old town, and my first-floor room looked directly onto the river. It was spacious, airy, and bright, with four large double-glazed windows that shut out outside noise very effectively. I stayed five nights recently, and the whole experience was so good that I'd give more than five stars if I could. I'm gluten-intolerant, and the staff, especially chef Virginie, went to great lengths to accommodate that. Virginie was warm, helpful, and a really great cook. I usually try a different restaurant each time I visit a town, but the food here was so good that I ate most of my meals at the hotel. Every one was excellent. You could pick anything from the menu and be sure of a great meal. The staff were professional, friendly, and helpful all around. Great location, nice rooms, excellent food, and lovely service. It's clearly not the cheapest place in town, but it was worth every penny.
