Hotel Heimatlodge

I lost some clothes and tried calling and messaging, but they ignored me. The hotel is entirely self-service, and you can’t reach anyone even when something is urgent. If I’d lost my room key, what then? I’d have been left homeless.

The room and bathroom were compact, clean, and comfortable, and breakfast was great. I would’ve given the hotel five stars, but the self check-in and communication were terrible. Our TV had no channels in any language, and I couldn’t cast to it. It’s a small village, so after a good local dinner, you’re on your own.

Breakfast was great, and I really appreciated having coffee in the room. The rooms were clean and modern. Check-in was a little confusing, though it worked fine if you paid attention. The room was quite warm, and opening the windows, which face the street, was the only way to cool it down.

We arrived in the early evening with three Expedia confirmations for three separate rooms, but only two rooms were available. Nobody was at the hotel or answering the phone. A kind older gentleman eventually came in and called someone he knew who worked there. I spoke to her in my mediocre German, and she explained in Swiss German that she couldn’t do anything. We had to go out that night and find another hotel in Tasch for our third person. The hotel itself is nice, and breakfast was decent, but the service was terrible. There was simply no one there, so you’re on your own if something goes wrong. Expedia’s review section for this hotel has never been available, which makes me wonder if they expect bad reviews after treating guests this way.
