Apartments Chalet Wirz Travel

We were already impressed after staying in Apartement Peter, so we didn't expect this visit to top it. But Apartement Heidi did. It's a cosy place, with the small touches covered: tea, coffee, spices, bread, juice, fruit, a welcome gift, and even a care packet for the trip home.

The Wi-Fi could have been a little faster, though it worked for both work and leisure, and we weren't planning to spend much time indoors. The apartment itself was spotless and quiet, right at the edge of town where hardly any cars or people made noise. There's free parking by the door, and it's about a four-minute drive to the lake swimming area or up into the mountains for great views of the valleys. There was plenty to make a stay comfortable: a huge terrace spanning almost the whole apartment, dining tables both inside and out, a grill, board games, two big TVs, three beds for up to five people, lots of clothes hangers, an umbrella, and walking sticks. It's half a floor above ground, which worked well with children. We usually bring our own pillows, but these were so comfortable we'll leave ours at home next time. The kitchen had all the cooking and eating equipment we needed, plus a dishwasher, stove, microwave, large fridge and freezer, and spices. Our host had also left enough food for our first breakfast and more, along with fresh roses on the table. The host was exceptionally polite, friendly, helpful, and responsive. For anyone not used to Switzerland, the tap water tastes great and doesn't need filtering. Lauterbrunnen, the well-known village with waterfalls, is an hour away by car and worth a visit.

JP and Annalise Wirz were incredibly kind, welcoming, generous, and helpful hosts. During our frequent trips to Switzerland, this is the best apartment we've stayed in. It was neat and clean, and the kitchen had almost everything we needed. Having bikes available added a lot to our stay. Thank you, JP and Annalise Wirz.

Even though we arrived as strangers, JP Wirz welcomed us like family. He met us at Sarnen Nord station in his van, calling out as we got off the train with our luggage, then showed us around beautiful Sarnen. He also introduced us to the local farmer Andrea, who gave us fresh honey, cheese, and eggs from the farm. When we reached the apartment, the fridge was full, and there was fresh fruit, bread, and flowers waiting for us. The apartment was beautiful and clean, and the location was perfect for our four-night stay. If JP is in town when you book, you're in for a treat.
