Seehotel Wilerbad

A quiet coffee with those beautiful morning views, then a late afternoon break in the garden with the waterfall close by. The whole stay felt calm, welcoming and enjoyable, and every day was lovely.

The evening restaurant was good, though quite expensive. The price felt comparable to high-quality restaurants we've tried in other cities, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was just OK for a four-star hotel, with too few vegetables, though it should do if you eat healthily. Some things have to be picked up with a fork and put on your plate, which is inconvenient. We liked the private lakeside spot with a floating platform to sit on or jump from. The location also works well if you're exploring Swiss nature by car for the first time. The rooms have an awesome view, and the spa has lots of different saunas. The outdoor pool is especially nice in colder weather, and it has a sauna-like feature too. There’s no air conditioning, so the room got a bit hot at night. Opening the window helped, and we didn't see any mosquitoes, at least at the end of August. There is a fan, but it doesn't fully solve the problem. Summer blankets might help as well.

Getting to the nearest supermarket takes a car, but that lakeside scenery makes it worthwhile. The room was modern and clean, and the view was absolutely stunning. The Thai food was great too, and the setting was just right for relaxing.

That lake view from the room was a real treat. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped, and waking up to the scenery felt peaceful and relaxing. We were there for two nights, and the breakfast was another highlight, with a wide range of tasty choices for different diets and preferences. A trainee served us at breakfast. I can't remember her name, but she was warm, attentive and made sure we had what we needed. Her care made our mornings especially memorable. Between that service, the lovely setting and the breakfast, I had a wonderful stay and would happily come back.
