We were left scrambling after our prepaid room was cancelled at 5 PM on the day of arrival, a couple of hours after check-in had officially started. We had booked well ahead, but were told they were overbooked and got no help finding somewhere else. There were no other rooms nearby, so we had to change our plans for the next few days. If guests can be treated this way, they might as well shut down.

The drive there was lovely, and the surroundings were so peaceful. I stayed here years ago and still remembered how welcoming the place and people were. Erika and Kurt were just as kind and helpful this time, and made us feel at home. It's a family hotel, and I'm glad it's still open. We hope to come back and find it open again.

Alpenrose was simple and quaint, with friendly service and beautiful scenery. It's a bit out of the way, but I loved staying there and would go back if I'm in the area.

Saxeten is so quiet it can feel like you're by yourself, and the natural views make it a lovely spot to unwind. The hotel is very clean and tidy, the view is amazing, and the staff are really nice. Erika, the owner, feels like both a mother and a friend to her guests. Interlaken is about 20 minutes away, and the road has quite a few curves. The local bus stop is only a three-minute walk from the hotel, though you'll need to get the bus schedule.
