Sorell Hotel Ruden

The receptionist was incredibly kind and helped us with everything, answering all our questions and then some. Thanks to her, it felt like a 12/10 experience. In fact, this was the best hotel of our trip by far, and we stayed at lots of different places. Nothing else compared. The old building is beautiful and centrally located, the rooms are adorable and very clean, and the breakfast buffet was really good. Their service is outstanding.

The renovation gives the hotel an interesting look, with a modern touch throughout. Our room had no window, though, and the night was very hot and sleepless. Staff were attentive and helpful. Breakfast was okay, not bad, but nothing special.

The hotel is in a great spot near the railway station and old town. The staff were really friendly, the old building has character, and breakfast was fine. But for me, a good bed and bathroom are the main things when I travel, and both were a problem here. The shower doors just stand on the floor. Water drained much more slowly than it came in, so the tray filled up quickly. That made the little toy duck make sense. When I opened the door, water spilled onto the floor, or I had to wait a long time for it to drain. The shower hose wasn’t working properly either. The bed and thin pillows were also very uncomfortable for me, and I couldn’t sleep. There was chocolate on each pillow with a note saying sleep was their priority, and another side said we could ask for a different pillow. We got to the room after reception had closed, so that wasn’t an option. Why not provide ordinary, medium pillows in the first place? Be careful when booking, since there’s an option for a room without windows. I almost chose it, but noticed at the last moment. Windows and fresh air matter to me, so I’d have been very unhappy to discover that after arriving. This stay cost more and was less comfortable than other hotels on our trip.

This was my second stay here. The location is good, the rooms are clean and well cared for, and the hotel staff, Alicia & William, were so warm and made the visit pleasant.
