Pension Bergperle / Ma Perla

Our room had its own sink, with a shared bathroom down the hall, and we also loved having a shared kitchen where we could make picnic lunches and evening meals. Breakfast was a treat, with local cheeses and homemade bread. Warm welcomes from the lovely owners, candlelit breakfasts, and fresh flowers in our room all made the stay more memorable. The price was fantastic, the best in the area, and we’d highly recommend Bergperle any time of year. Pension Bergperle is as quaint as Sent itself. The village makes a charming, central base for exploring the Lower Engadine, with local shops, pretty cobbled streets, and traditional buildings. The church spire and bells have a lovely old-time feel. Buses stop at several points around the village and take you to the other lovely towns nearby. We especially enjoyed the baths in Scuol with a special discount card from the B&B. The B&B is beautiful, with its own mix of traditional furniture and modern conveniences.

Dorothea and Til, who own and run Bergperle, went out of their way to make sure our stay was wonderful. Breakfast in their old-world dining room was a treat, with excellent local cheeses, freshly baked bread, and plenty of coffee served by Dorothea. The bedroom on the second floor was comfortable and had great views. It was handy to have a kitchen for putting together quick meals from local produce. Free wifi was always available, and there’s free secure parking alongside, though nobody seems to lock their doors in Sent. High above the Engadin valley in Graubünden, Switzerland, Bergperle is a perfect escape from the usual Alpine tourist traps. I’d definitely like to return here, very soon.

The guest kitchen means you can prepare your own meals, though Ma Perla also serves a generous breakfast. We had a wonderful stay in this quiet, clean house, which felt wonderfully relaxing. The rooms have rustic, romantic wooden furniture. The atmosphere was especially pleasant thanks to the host couple, who were incredibly helpful and extremely friendly. We spent two days at Pension Ma Perla in May 2012, and I can highly recommend this guesthouse. Thanks so much for the lovely stay!

Til and Dorothea were welcoming from the moment I arrived and stayed helpful whenever I needed anything. I really enjoyed several weeks at Pension Bergperle / Ma Perla. The B&B is right in the center of Sent, close to the supermarket, cafe, and restaurant, and has a stunning mountain view. The rooms and the other facilities, including bathrooms, kitchens, and terrace, are well maintained. Breakfast is generous and optional. During the day there’s freshly ground coffee, mineral water, and fruit. The mountains are right there for great walks and bike rides. Skiers can store their equipment at the B&B, and the Traumpiste lets you ski almost all the way back. I definitely recommend staying here.
