Parkhotel Margna

The bar and restaurant were delightful, and the facilities are beautiful. The staff were exceptionally attentive. What an outstanding hotel, I can’t wait to return, hopefully with more friends and family.

The restaurant was good quality, though when we ordered à la carte it felt like more care went into the daily menu. Half board might suit you better unless you want the freedom to eat around the area. We also loved the bar, especially the fireplace and live music. The house has been renovated beautifully, with thoughtful design details and a cozy feel. Our older room had lovely views and was nice inside, but the bed was uncomfortable and the air very dry. Some rooms have been newly renovated. We were greeted warmly on our first visit, but checkout felt impersonal. Nobody asked how the stay was, and we had to ask twice for help with our luggage. A shame, because the stay was otherwise very pleasant. We’re thinking of coming back to Margna next time we’re in Sils.

The restaurant is good and worth considering for dinner, and the atmosphere around the hotel is quiet and calm. There’s also a nice bar with fireplaces and a smoking room for cigar fans. I stayed for a week and got a good sense of the place. For the high price, even by Swiss standards, I was given an old room. The spa is much too small for a hotel of this size.

From arrival to checkout everything went smoothly, and the staff, from the cleaning ladies and waitresses to the managers, were warm, welcoming, and always smiling. The details really made the stay: our huge room had heated floors and two balconies, and it was cleaned twice a day. There was live piano during breakfast and dinner, too. Breakfast was great, especially the station where you can choose your own fruit and vegetables and have them juiced fresh on the spot. It’s one of those little touches that sets Hotel Park Margna apart from other places I’ve stayed. There was nothing negative about the visit. Our ladies’ ski weekend wouldn’t be the same without it, and I can’t wait to come back. I’d recommend it to everyone, though I’d almost like to keep it my little secret. When visiting the St Moritz region, this is the place to be.
