The rooms are small but well kept, and both the rooms and the property were clean. Andrea checked us in and was very friendly, then came to chat with us again in the morning. The staff overall were friendly too. This family has run the place since 1833. It looks like it may once have housed large work crews, with a mess galley and lots of place settings, though I'm not sure. There was no air conditioning in our room. The property sits about five feet from Hwy 8. It's not an interstate, but it's busy, and traffic can be noisy with the windows open. The porch gets lively in the evenings, with local people stopping in for tea, coffee and beer. We had a nice time there.

The host made me feel very welcome during my two-day stay. Hygiene was excellent, and the service was excellent too.
