Bodenseehotel Weisses Rössli

We stopped here while traveling from France to Neuschwanstein castle, and it made for a lovely stay. The welcome was warm, and the staff even helped with our heavy suitcases. My wife and I had a spacious bedroom with a stunning lake view, plus a superb large bed and a relaxing shower. We also enjoyed a quiet, delicious dinner with a yummy soup, and the breakfast was awesome. Everything felt to be of fairly good quality. We really loved the place.

The staff were really friendly, and they were fine with me bringing my dry, slightly dusty bike with all its bikepacking bags into the room. Breakfast was great, and the room had a lovely view. I’d book again, though on such a hot day I missed having air conditioning or even a small fridge. :)

There’s a pebbled beach here and a great restaurant with a view over the Bodensee, though the prices are very high. My room was a letdown: small, facing the road, and supplied with tiny towels and almost no shower gel. The hotel is also close to the railway line, and there’s no air conditioning.

The view was the one good thing about our restaurant visit. The service was a complete mess, with waiters unsure which table had ordered what. One asked two different tables before finding the right one. The food wasn’t worth the price. Honestly, just have a glass of wine for the view, then run.
