The riverside path is nearby, and it’s said to offer some of the best views of the Matterhorn in Zermatt. It’s a lovely spot to see the peak in the light at sunrise or sunset. The property is also close to a grocery store and the Gornergrat station, and the train station is an easy walk even with luggage. We booked a Studio, which had plenty of room for two. There’s a kitchen with dishes, cutlery, a microwave, and a refrigerator, so it should work well for a longer stay. Expedia’s listing says there are no elevators, but that’s incorrect: there is an elevator, so no need to worry about that. Check-in is at their partner hotel, the Alpen Resort & Spa. If you arrive early, staff there will gladly store your luggage.

Our apartment at La Perle was very spacious and really clean, with a kitchen. It’s at a different location from the hotel. Highly recommended.

We stayed in a studio with a kitchenette and it was outstanding. Check-in is at Alpen Spa resort. Both train stations are about five minutes away. Take the 7am Zermatt express!

The apartment was a great value for Zermatt. We were upgraded to a roomy ground-floor place with an outdoor patio and plenty of seating, a decent-sized bedroom, and a Murphy bed in the living room. It’s a little dated, though still pretty high end; even the bathroom faucet and towel racks were Rolex. It’s about a 3-5 minute walk to the train station. They can also pick you up and take care of your luggage if you call, which was great when we arrived. The Main Street is just beyond the station, with good shopping, restaurants, bars, and a nice grocery store. The grocery store closer to the apartment isn’t nearly as nice. We liked the place enough to stay an extra night.
