The restaurant is good, and the place is so peaceful. The people were really friendly too. It’s only a few minutes by car from Stein am Rhein, and the surrounding area is lovely. I’d definitely suggest stopping for a night or longer to enjoy it.

The breakfast was really good, and the hotel itself is a very cozy old half-timbered building. It’s close to the train to stein am Rhein, in a beautiful, quiet area. A nice choice if you’re after a calm and cozy atmosphere.

The meal was exceptional, and the service was good too. There weren’t any tables free when we arrived, but the waitress managed to find us one. We were missing a napkin at our table. With so many guests there, I could understand how that happened, though it would be good to check that every table is set. I’d definitely come back.

Our room in the newly renovated stable had modern furnishings and a really soft, comfortable bed. Switzerland was in the middle of a heat wave, though, and there was no ceiling fan or other way to cool the room at night. A table fan we bought was enough to manage.

The food was delicious and really high quality. It’s a beautiful restaurant, though you’re best off reserving during busy times. I’d highly recommend it.
