Culinarium Alpinum

We celebrated a family occasion here and had a really memorable evening. The surprise menu was explained perfectly in English by one of the chefs, and the food was beautifully presented, with tasty combinations. I never knew celery and vegetables could taste so good. Our waitress was professional and chose wines to go with the bottles my friends had brought, with corkage paid. The setting is tasteful and beautiful, and the whole place felt friendly and classy. We’ll be back.

The restaurant had enough staff, and they were attentive and friendly, which made a real difference. On my birthday visit, the garden was lovely to taste from, and the cuisine made good use of local food. Mr Durrer’s hospitality and management showed in the attention to detail throughout. The rooms were beautifully decorated, with everything needed and nothing unnecessary. I actually thought they looked even better in person than in the website photos. Having stayed in everything from simple to luxury hotels and restaurants around the world, this was one of my best experiences. Congratulations to Mr Durrer.

The room was spacious, and the staff were friendly, with a very good location too. But privacy is a problem: the walls feel paper thin, so you hear conversations from neighboring rooms. The doors are very noisy as well, and you can be woken when the first person in your corridor gets up.

I was there for work and enjoyed the curated menu. The room, Berlepsch, had an excellent view of the hills. A nice place to stay.
