Hôtel De La Télécabine

Richard and the team made things easy for our family from the moment we arrived. The hotel is welcoming and very convenient, with secure covered parking and ski passes and rentals just steps away. From the ski storage room, there's a beginner slope, plus three high speed lifts up to the Swiss and French slopes. The food and activities suited us well. Rooms and the many shared hangout spaces were pleasant, and we slept quietly and warmly. The showers were hot with good water pressure. We can't wait to come back.

We had a fantastic family long weekend at The Télécabine at the end of March this year. The lifts are right outside, so it’s ski-in, ski-out, and sorting gear was easy with the boot room and ski locker by the entrance. There’s plenty of parking, too. Inside, it has a warm, fun feel, with several lounges for relaxing or watching films, plus a good bar and restaurant. The food was fab, especially the best fondue we’d had in ages. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I understand it was under new management, and the owners were around making sure everyone was having a good time and had what they needed. Our room was spacious, the beds comfortable, and the showers hot and powerful. A real gem for an easy family ski weekend. We’ll be back for sure.

I just gave up on going back for another wait. After finally placing my order and paying, I had to hobble over to a table in my ski shoes, trying not to spill anything, only to find the hot chocolate was lukewarm at best. There were four people working at the bar and four people ordering, but it still took ages to get my order in, even though the restaurant wasn't busy.

The hotel is affordable and good enough if you're mainly there to ski. It's well placed for the local pistes and the wider Portes du Soleil area, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The building feels very dated, though, and there's not much in the way of facilities, for example, no kettle in the bedroom. Restaurant choices were limited at times, and there are only a couple of other restaurants in the village.
