Hotel les Touristes

This is a good value choice if you want somewhere simple with a few important perks: a great free breakfast, helpful owners and a good location. The Swiss breakfast had a big selection, including chocolate, hard-boiled eggs, lots of lovely breads, cereals, meat, cheese, drinks and excellent coffee. The bathrooms and showers are shared, but clean, and we never had to wait. Having a sink in our room was handy, and the views were great. It’s a little outside the main village near the lift, but still close enough. The free town bus takes 2-3 stops, or you can walk uphill to the lift. If you’re out enjoying the nightlife, expect about a 15-minute stumble back down the hill. Our room looked over the main road into town, so the view was good but traffic noise was noticeable. I was glad I brought earplugs, especially since the walls are a bit thin. The owners are really nice and helpful, and almost always around.

The hotel is roughly a 10-minute walk from the town center, and compared with the prices we saw there, Tourists is good value. We had a comfortable, pleasant stay at Hotel les Tourists. Samuel gave us a warm welcome and was helpful throughout. The rooms are basic but comfortable, the shared toilets and showers are clean, and the complimentary breakfast is filling with a good selection. We’d definitely come back.

The bus to the ski slopes stops right outside, and the south-facing rooms look out over the valley and mountains. Our room was small, but cosy and very clean, making it a good option for a relatively cheap getaway in Verbier. What really stood out was the staff. When changing international circumstances forced us into a retroactive 10 day quarantine, management went out of their way to provide what we needed, including food, drinks and cleaning supplies.

Everything was straightforward and clean, and the complimentary breakfast was good, even for vegans. The owner is a very pleasant man who makes you feel welcome. I really enjoyed my stay and thought it was very good value. I’d definitely stay here again if I’m in the area.
