The room was clean, simple, and nicely designed, while breakfast was thoughtfully put together with locally sourced items. The hotel is lovely and well located in central Vals. But major construction began outside our window around 7 every morning. It was impossible to sleep in or relax in the room during the day. I had asked for a quiet room, yet ours was right beside the construction site. Once the work started, being in the room was really unpleasant. I might return after the construction is finished. For rooms facing the work, I wish they offered a substantial discount.

The capuns were delicious, and the pork with pizokels was tender and full of flavor. The spinach tagliatelle tasted good too, though it was a little overcooked. We were warmly welcomed and the service was friendly.

I never actually stayed at Alpina Hotel because the experience at check-in went badly. I had been sent there after another hotel failed to provide the room I booked, and then I was told the price was higher than the amount I had reserved online. When I asked why, staff threatened to call the police instead of explaining. I felt intimidated by their conduct and had to leave. Later, I saw many past reviews describing similar pricing problems and poor treatment. That makes it seem like there may be a wider pattern of dishonesty and mismanagement. This is not acceptable hospitality. I strongly advise people to avoid this hotel and choose somewhere that treats guests respectfully and makes its prices clear.

We had dinner in the restaurant and were impressed with the food quality. The room was comfortable, and the staff gave us a friendly welcome. It was a really pleasant stay, and I'd absolutely recommend it for a relaxing weekend away.

There’s convenient parking behind the hotel, which was handy. Inside, the rooms are roomy and cozy, the buffet breakfast is lovely, and the restaurant serves tasty local food. It has a really nice Swiss feel, and the friendly staff made us feel welcome. Thanks for everything 🙏☺️
