Grand Hotel du Lac

We had four nights in two rooms, a junior suite and a twin for our teenagers. The rooms were cosy, clean, well serviced by housekeeping, and well appointed. Breakfast was lovely, with excellent service from the breakfast staff. The young man at reception was also helpful throughout. Most of the stay was lovely, but the way our departure went left a sour taste. On the last day, the senior female receptionist was curt when we asked for a late checkout, saying 1pm was the best she could offer. We checked out at 12.30, left our luggage at the hotel, and went out for a few hours. When we returned to collect our bags, we asked to use the bathrooms and whether there was a quiet space where we could pray before going to the airport. The same receptionist immediately said all the rooms were occupied, as were the meeting rooms and ballroom. It was off season and the hotel seemed very quiet to me. We've asked for prayer space in hotels, museums, restaurants, airports, and train stations over many years of travelling, and never been dismissed like that. Funny how one small action can taint the memory of an otherwise excellent stay.

The breakfast was unbelievable, with a beautiful selection, amazing fruit, and pastries and bread that were second to none. The breakfast staff were kind and caring, and the hotel clearly holds itself to a high standard. From booking with Yullia through to departure, the service was top notch, and the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. Our room had a patio overlooking the lake and back courtyard, which made the trip feel extra special. The location is wonderful, just a short walk from restaurants and Old Town. We loved Vevey and can't wait to return to Grand Hotel du Lac. I can't say enough about this place or its staff.

We stayed with a group for four days in Switzerland, using Grand Hotel du Lac as our base. The team made the trip memorable: every request was handled, and the WhatsApp hotel chat was extremely helpful. They also arranged the loveliest taxi drivers to take care of our pursuit transfers. Thank you for the friendliness, helpfulness, and attentiveness from the staff, and for the service and food. We had dinner at the Veranda restaurant on Wednesday night, and the food was sublime. There were so many things I wanted to try that I may have to come back.

The food, rooms, views, and decor were all lovely. When we ran into a double-booking problem, the staff did their best to help us. It's a lovely hotel, and we need to come back in summer.
