Domaine Notre-Dame de la Route

The peaceful neighborhood was a real plus, with grocery stores just a 3-5 minute walk away and convenient public transport connections near Fribourg Gare and the university. It's also well placed for the Schwarzsee campus and the snowy mountains of the Fribourg Alps. We felt at home from the moment we arrived at Le Domaine Notre Dame de la Route in Fribourg, thanks to the warm welcome. The staff are friendly, approachable, and funny, and I'll miss that. Over our 12 nights, my friends and I had no issues at all. The property is very clean and organized, the service is quick, and electricity, water, and the listed facilities were consistently provided to a high standard. The food was delicious throughout our stay, and the traditional Swiss fondue we were welcomed with was beautifully prepared and memorable. It's an amazing place to stay in Fribourg. I'd wholeheartedly recommend it, and I really look forward to coming back to Le Domaine Notre Dame de la Route.

We had to leave the windows open at night, and without fly screens we woke up with quite a few mosquito bites. There was no AC, kettle, mini fridge, or TV. I didn't miss the TV, though the other three would've been nice. The rooms are spacious and have a nice view, and the minimalist, basic style works beautifully. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I especially appreciated that the queen bed came with four pillows and two blankets. Most hotels only give two people one blanket, which I hate. There's also a large free parking area.

I've stayed here twice, and both times the rooms were spacious and clean, with really comfortable beds. The ladies at the desk couldn't do enough to help. Breakfast could probably offer more choice, though every place and every guest is different.

Arriving late at night, I was welcomed by a very nice note on the reception desk. The rent included breakfast, the internet was fast, and the hotel areas were neat and clean. I loved the location and hospitality, plus the view from the terrace. The mountain view is beautiful, and I enjoyed my stay. I'd recommend it for either a short or long stay. My only complaint was visiting in summer and finding no air circulation in the room, not even a normal fan. That wouldn't be needed in winter.
