Hotel Seehof Superior

We couldn’t have asked for a nicer final night on our bike tour. The location by the lake was fab, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The place was unpretentious, clean and looked recently refurbished, with comfortable beds. We had a solid evening meal and breakfast, and there was safe bike storage with the option to charge e-bikes.

The restaurant was delicious, and we really enjoyed the seasonal white asparagus menu. With the lake views and super friendly staff who helped with all our questions, we had a wonderful stay. I’d recommend it, especially if you like having lots of outdoor activities available in different seasons.

The lake view is astounding, and it’d make this restaurant a lovely spot to dine with someone special. The freshwater lake fish was such a delight, really good, and the food quality and portion size were good. There’s a nice variety of ice creams, most of them very yummy, and the hot chocolates were phenomenal. One downside is the payment rule: cards are accepted for bills above 30 CHF, while bills below 30 CHF must be paid in cash. The stewards are nice but get rushed and are less attentive during peak hours. Breakfast is available, but it’s croissant type food, with no real breakfast menu before 10am.

We had all the food outside in brilliant April sunshine, and every meal was superb. I had the asparagus, avocado and tiger prawn salad during asparagus season. I wanted it as a main course rather than a starter, which caused some consternation, but the waitress eventually found a way to order it using that dreaded handheld computer device. My wife had battered lake fish, calamari and chips, and my mother-in-law had lake fish fillets. Well done Seehof!
