The service made our stay especially nice. Miss Gabriella at reception was super helpful and pleasant, and Piotr gave us amazing service at dinner and breakfast, both of which were included. At 10 pm we toured the observatory with an amazing guide. I learned new constellations and got to see Jupiter and all four of its moons through his telescope. I never thought I’d get to do that. The views were breathtaking, the location amazing, and being able to snowboard straight out of the hotel doors was hard to beat. We loved the place and would happily stay again.

The dinner included with our room was delicious and felt elevated. Drinks cost extra, but weren’t expensive. The staff were friendly and helpful. You do need to buy your own ticket up the mountain on the rail, and if you’ll be in the area for more than a day, the unlimited pass is worth it for getting around the cables easily. I was there in April, when it was still snowy and beautiful. Being up there at sunset and sunrise felt surreal. The rooms were cozy and clean, and if you can, choose a Matterhorn-view room. I loved the stay and would definitely do it again.

The food was good quality even at over 3000m, and the legendary mountains were impressive right from the room. The Milky Way and stars were clearly visible. Service was great too. A humidifier in the room would have made it even better.

Dinner and breakfast were a terrible experience, especially the food staff, and the food quality was low for such an expensive stay. My vegetarian wife wasn’t offered a vegetarian option for the included dinner, and nobody asked us about dietary restrictions before arrival or at check-in. You’d be better off visiting by train and staying somewhere else at a lower elevation and price, where the food might be better too.
