Hotel Bristol

We enjoyed a great view of the Matterhorn from our room, and the staff were wonderful and friendly. Breakfast was warm and good. There’s even a microwave downstairs, handy if you want to warm food on a cold night. I’d recommend this hotel in Zermatt.

The spa was nice, though I expected something more like an onsen. I booked a Matterhorn view room for one night, but the mountain only came out for 2-3 hours, so it really depends on your luck. Still, this was the most satisfying stay I had in Switzerland compared with the other places, even if it wasn’t cheap. They also run a shuttle to the train station, just remember to ask reception.

The steam room in the basement was a welcome way to unwind after a tiring day in the mountains. There’s also a microwave down there for heating or making simple meals, which is especially practical on a longer stay. Breakfast was fresh, good, and satisfying. The hotel is convenient for Zermatt, and offers a free shuttle from the train station if you call ahead. Pickup was handled smoothly, which helps in a car-free town. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The older lady at reception was particularly kind and took a real interest in helping us plan sightseeing around Zermatt. Her local knowledge and patient guidance added a lot. Rooms are neat, clean, and well kept. Mine didn’t face the Matterhorn, though they do have rooms that do. The room was comfortable and organized efficiently, if a little small, as is common in Swiss mountain hotels. They also have secure luggage storage for early check-ins or check-outs when you still plan to sightsee.

We had a lovely ski break, and the hotel arranged a free ride to the train station for us. Our room looked out over the Matterhorn, and the location was excellent. Thanks for a really nice stay and excellent service.
