The apartment itself was lovely, though whether the price feels right is something to consider. It's on the second floor and sleeps up to six, with a master bedroom and ensuite plus two more bedrooms sharing a bathroom. The living room is spacious and comfortable, with elegant furnishings and a balcony set up with a table and chairs for eating. On a clear day, you can see Matterhorn from there. We found the kitchen and equipment unusually well stocked: washing machine, refrigerator, oven, microwave, plenty of cookware and dishes, cooking condiments, adapters, and extension cords. The walk from the station is about nine minutes on a straightforward route, but part of it goes uphill and can be tiring with big luggage. Gornergrat railway is across from Zermatt train station, also about a nine-minute walk away. The Sunnergga Five Lakes hike cable car is three minutes away on foot. Matterhorn Glacier Paradise is farther, around 27 minutes walking, though electric shuttle buses run nearby. I booked on Airbnb several months ahead for May 25-27, 2025. The host got in touch before and during our stay, and replied quickly to questions through the system and email.
