The room itself was fine, but those pillows felt like couch cushions. I couldn’t tell whether the covers had been changed between guests. The place is a very long way from the train station. There’s a free bus, which we only found out about later, though we could have done more research ourselves. We’d already paid and committed to the stay when they told us, just a few days before arrival, that we couldn’t leave our luggage there. We’d booked a super saver train ticket and didn’t want to change our arrival time and throw off our Zermatt plans. Pack light, or look into nannybag.com for cheaper luggage storage. We used it, which saved us a lot of trouble hauling bags up the big hill to the house. Update: I’m the partner of the guest who stayed there. I’ll get the screenshots to show I was a guest too. Our room didn’t face the Matterhorn. I’d give it three stars at most.

The check-in and payment were easy to sort out. It’s a little uphill walk from the town center, though downhill to the Bergbahnen lift to Furi-Matterhorn. The flat was very nice, with an incredible Matterhorn view from the living room and balcony once the clouds cleared. The bathrooms were excellent, especially the steam shower. The kitchen is small but works well enough. I’d highly recommend it.

The balcony was lovely, with flower boxes full of edelweiss, though there wasn’t a Matterhorn view. Inside, the apartment was lovingly furnished and very well maintained. The landlady was friendly and accommodating, and the service was top-notch.
