Hotel Antares

The Matterhorn views were breathtaking, the spa was great, and breakfast was incredible. I almost didn’t want to write this because I’d like the hotel to stay a hidden gem. The location is amazing, and the staff were the best. Martina helped me so much throughout my stay, including when I injured my knee on the last day. The ice really helped. Everyone on staff was incredible, and I’m sorry I can’t remember all their names. I WILL be back next year.

After ten days hiking in the ALPS, the hotel's complimentary breakfast and its variety of food meant a lot to us. We had a great few days at Antare after finishing the Walker’s Haute Route. It’s in a quieter spot, but still within walking distance of Zermatt town center. From our room balcony, we had a spectacular view of the Matterhorn, which we enjoyed at dawn and sunset over meals or tea. Nothing could beat that. The front desk staff were super nice and let us leave our luggage before check-in.

Rubin greeted us so warmly at Hotel Antares and gave us outstanding service. She was kind, friendly, and attentive throughout, which made our stay comfortable and memorable. We had a fantastic time.

The view of the Matterhorn peak from our window was the most memorable part of our stay. Our room was very clean, and the bathroom was impeccably maintained, though the carpet looked a little old. Staff made us feel welcome right away. The receptionist was friendly and gave us plenty of helpful information for our three days, and the breakfast staff were just as hospitable and created a lovely atmosphere. The hotel is well located: it’s an easy, enjoyable 20-minute walk from the main station along the main shopping street, or you can take one of the free E buses that run every 20-30 minutes and connect well. We had a wonderful holiday and are grateful to the staff. Consider booking a room with a Matterhorn view, it adds a lot to the stay.
