Le Petit CHARME-INN

The terrace had a beautiful, clear view of the Matterhorn and was one of the best parts of our stay. Breakfast was surprisingly good for a 2-star hotel, with decent choices and enough for vegetarians. The room was small, but clean and well maintained. There were real drawbacks, though. The washroom smelled unpleasant throughout our stay, and we noticed mould, which made it uncomfortable to use. Getting there involves a slightly steep walk, manageable when travelling light, but I’d strongly recommend a taxi with heavy luggage. The service left a bad impression. Early check-in wasn’t allowed, which is understandable to a point, but the room genuinely seemed ready and the receptionist was rude and unwilling to be flexible at all. For a short stay, the clean room, breakfast, and terrace are positives, but the washroom and service bring it down. I’d give the 2-star hotel 3/5, with clear room for improvement.

The rooftop view of the Matterhorn was great, and the breakfast was great too. The bathroom was clean and new. Most of all, the staff were amazing, welcoming, and super helpful. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at so far. Highly recommend!

The included breakfast had a fantastic selection, and the shower pressure was an 8.5/10. I also liked the charming old-fashioned elevator. It’s a quaint place, and with the windows shut it stays quiet, though you can hear the nearby river when they’re open. The bathroom may not work well for couples with heavier builds.

The staff were pleasant and really helpful, and breakfast had a very good range of options. Our room was clean and comfortable, too. The hotel is just a short walk from the main street.
