Panorama Ski Lodge

I’ve found my place to stay whenever I’m in Zermatt. We spent three days at Panorama Ski Lodge for our Swiss IT company’s 10-year celebration, booking five of the six rooms. Every room was really lovely and had a beautiful view. Brigitte was a wonderful host, and her team was very friendly. Thanks to Brigitte and everyone at PSL!

My family stayed at Panorama Ski Lodge in May 2019 and loved it. The room had an awesome view, and the place was clean, cozy, and comfortable. The staff were great too. Hope we can go back someday! :)

The hill is steep, though, especially on the way back up with children and a pram. The lodge is on the quieter, less ritzy side, about a beautiful 10-15 minute walk from Bahnhofstrasse. Free buses don't run late, and taxis cost 25-32 CHF, which feels outrageous, though that's typical for Swiss taxis. There’s a cute playground nearby, which was great for the kids. We had a wonderful two days in Zermatt for my wife’s 40th birthday and hope to return for longer. With four very energetic small children, we appreciated how family-friendly the place was. The owner welcomed us warmly, speaks fluent French, German, and English, and picked us up from the station after our long trip with the kids. We chose Panorama Ski Lodge through a booking site that recommended it for families. It isn't cheap, but many hotels require two rooms for five or more people, making the total expensive. For our group, Panorama was genuinely reasonably priced and exceeded expectations. Our apartment had a Matterhorn view, plenty of space, and everything we needed. The layout was practical and tastefully done, with slate, faux-fur throws, and quality bedding. Blackout curtains on every window, including the living room, made it possible to use that space as a bedroom. The main suite bathroom was separated from the bedroom by a simple shower curtain, which didn't look great or work especially well, and there could be more shoe storage. Breakfast was solid, maybe a little basic. It was buffet only, with no extras to order, and the 8-9:30 or so hours can be restrictive if you're jetlagged or want to sleep in. The lodge really delivers Swiss hospitality and quality.

Brigitte is a caring, very nice host, and we had a great time. The place is beautiful and clean, with stunning rooms and a perfect view. We’ll be back, and I’d always recommend it.
