Hotel Sarazena worked perfectly for our family of four on a longer ski holiday. With the kitchen, we could cook and save at least CHF100-200 a day in Switzerland, so even before that saving I thought the hotel was reasonably priced for its location and quality. It was a five-star stay, with a gorgeous breakfast, daily room service, and a ski room with ski-boot warmers, alongside the fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and a washing machine/dryer. The staff, including Diana and her team, were super friendly and helpful. The location is just a one-minute walk from Zermatt Bahnhof (station), the Gornergrat rail, and the bus stop for Sunnega or Matterhorn paradise, and two minutes from the supermarket. Our newly renovated rooftop family room was extremely spacious, soundproofed, comfortable, very warm in mid-December without us even using the heating, and had pretty views. It's best for families with older kids because of the steps up to the rooftop bed and the safety concern for younger children.

The staff clearly care about Hotel Sarazena. From what I understand, it’s family-run, and the current owners took over fairly recently. They’re making updates bit by bit, and you can see the effort. Four of us stayed for a week at the start of February 2026. The rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast was great, and everyone was kind and helpful. We also appreciated the affordable price, convenient location, and new spa area with its steam shower and sauna. We’d definitely stay here again if we come back to Zermatt.

We loved how charming this hotel felt. The balcony had amazing views of the Matterhorn, and the train station was super close and convenient. Our room was spacious and very clean, breakfast was wonderful, and the staff were so helpful and accommodating.

Being right by the train station and Coop grocery store made getting around Zermatt easy. After long days of hiking, we were glad to come back to a clean, spacious, comfortable room, especially one with a bathtub and a balcony looking out at the Matterhorn. Breakfast was generous and delicious each morning, just what we needed before heading out again. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Merci!

The room looked out over the trains and tracks, but was surprisingly quiet. It’s only a five-minute walk from Zermatt Station, which was handy for our early train. The staff were friendly and thoughtful, even getting breakfast ready for us the night before.
